My Friend, Local Ventura pro-surfer and Patagonia surf ambassador Mary Osborne, who last year sailed with the 5 Gyres Institute to the South Atlantic Gyre to Help Study Plastic Pollution and currently doing it again. Her stories about the massive amount of plastic trash polluting our oceans inspired me to create a photo piece on her in an effort to raise awareness of plastic pollution. I asked several talented women to help me in creating the piece. Local Ventura Artist, Jessica Bodner designed and created a jellyfish installation and fashion made entirely out of plastic for the shoot as well as donated the use of her studio, Los Angeles Based Hair Stylist Whitney Willison designed and styled the hair incorporating plastic trash and Make-up artist, Kat Pulido also from L.A. designed and applied the make-up looks. Michelle Evans was our lovely assistant. All work was done on a volunteer basis.
