Beautiful SURFER HAIR

We all know we need to exfoliate our scalp
due to the sweat and buildup of daily life,
and that we should also have deep conditioning treatments on our hair . . . especially with our active lifestyle.
But because spending $80 or more and
having to book weekly appointments (and
spend gas) sometimes just isn’t possible, we
asked our friends at B.O.S.S., Hairscapes,
Heaven on Earth and Salon Bobby & Guy if
we could do "at home" treatments when it’s
just not possible to get to a salon. They
kindly showed us how to do it at home and
after your initial investment for the products
needed (They’re worth it and so is YOUR hair), it will end up costing you less than two bucks a treatment! It’s WORTH the investment.

WEEKLY 30 MINUTE SCALP AND
DEEP CONDITIONING TREATMENTS

We have the products recommended, listed in order of WSSM’s preference, but we know
that everyone’s hair is different – so find which of these products work with your hair the best.

TIP: Did you know that at B.O.S.S. and several salons such as SUPERCUTS, Hairscapes, Heaven on Earth and Salon Bobby & Guy here on Oahu will let you return products that don’t work on your hair and exchange them for a different product to try? They’ll help you find the ones that work with YOUR hair type and when you find the ones that do… you won’t want to switch ever again!

(You only have about a week to try them
out, so be honest, AND, you’ll have to pay
the $ difference if you swap out for a more
expensive product.)
Ask your salon what their policy is on returning unsatisfactory products and if they don’t accept exchanges… go to a salon that will.
The salons mentioned above here in Hawaii
have a favorable return/exchange policy.

HERE’S WHAT YOU DO!
1.Clarify your hair
Wash your hair with one of the following to cleanse it from the pollution and grime of daily life, ocean water & styling products.
- Pureology Purify Shampoo
- Revivogen Shampoo FOR CLARIFYING
HAIR & SCALP SURFACE
- Alterna Instant Repair Shampoo

Apply a small amount, (dime or nickel size) of one of the recommended choices of the above purifying or clarifying shampoos. Lather and rinse.

2.Moisturize and cleanse
Use one of the following shampoos TO
MOISTURIZE HAIR AFTER CLARIFYING
- Pureology Hydrate
- Nanoworks Shampoo
- Alterna Caviar or Truffle

Apply a small amount of an above
recommended moisturizing shampoo.
Lather and rinse with cool water. (You’re putting the moisture back in.)

3.Deep condition your hair
with one of the following:
- Pureology Reconsructor
- Nanoworks Conditioner
- Alterna IntensiveRepair, Caviar or Truffle Conditioner

This is where the magic really starts to happen. Apply an amount from a quarter to a half dollar size of a recommended deep conditioner and comb thru to the ends with a detangling comb. Do NOT rinse.

4.Condition your scalp
with one of the following:
- Pureology Hydrate Conditioner
- Revivogen Conditioner

Apply a nickel to quarter size of an above recommended scalp conditioner and massage gently into scalp. Yes, you’re supposed to apply it over the previous conditioner.
Put hair up and cover your hair with a
processing cap or produce bag. Leave in for 20 minutes. The deep conditioner is now repairing your hair with the enzymes and amino acids which your hair lacks. The scalp conditioner is working its way into the follicle to exfoliate the free radicals. Isn’t that cool?!

After 20 minutes, uncap and WAIT 5
minutes before rinsing out with lukewarm or cool water. It is very important to allow the cuticle to close gently to room temperature before rinsing.

5.Condition with a leave-in
daily conditioner:

We recommend one of the following:
- Sexy Tri Wheat LEAVE-IN
CONDITIONER
- Pureology Colourmax
- Alterna Life

Squeeze or towel dry the excess water out of your hair and apply 3-4 pumps of a recommended leave in conditioner. For extra silkiness, mix 3 parts of the leave-in conditioner (3-4 pumps in your hand) with one part (a large pea size) of Pureology Shine Max or an Alterna Shine; apply and comb thru damp hair.

TIP: If you wear your hair curly, simply crunch and crunch and scrunch, distributing the conditioner mix while retaining curls at the same time.

NOTE: These products will not weigh down
your hair and you actually won't feel like you have anything on your hair. On the contrary, your hair will feel lighter and smoother. You can now style with other products or mix them in altogether, but the leave-in conditioner is a must in Hawaii as it will protect your hair from our harsh salt air, humidity and UA UVB ultraviolet rays.
